Solution for the clogging of printhead in a Eco solvent printer

The clogging of the printhead in Eco Solvent Printer is a common problem that users may encounter during usage. This is a normal phenomenon. Of course, there are many reasons for the printhead clogging. It is related to the composition of the ink, the environment, voltage, the printhead itself, and the usage time, etc.

  1. Software cleaning

Utilize the built-in cleaning function of the Eco Solvent Printer: Perform automatic cleaning through the maintenance function in the printer driver. This is a simple and quick solution, suitable for minor blockages or routine maintenance. It is recommended to clean no more than 3 times each time to avoid wasting ink.

 

  1. Manual cleaning

If the software cleaning effect is not satisfactory, you can try to manually clean the printhead. Remove the printhead from the Eco Solvent Printer Machine, soak it in the dedicated cleaning solution, and then use a syringe to draw the cleaning solution and gently inject it from the ink inlet of the printhead and let it flow out from the ink outlet. Repeat this process several times to remove the blockages inside the printhead.

 

  1. Ultrasonic cleaning

For severely clogged nozzles, an ultrasonic cleaner can be used for cleaning. Place the nozzles in the cleaning solution for soaking, and then use the ultrasonic cleaner for microwave oscillation. The time (usually 5-10 minutes) and power must be strictly controlled to prevent damage to the piezoelectric crystals.

 

  1. Inspection of the ink supply system

Check the sealing performance at the connection points of the ink tubes, ink reservoirs and ink cartridges. Air leakage can cause poor ink supply and lead to false blockage. Pay special attention to inspecting the tight fit between the ink reservoir and the ink column of the printhead.

Cleaning method: Use a soft sponge, sponge brush or soft dust-free cloth to wipe the nozzle. Avoid scratching the nozzle.

Check the status of the ink jets by printing test images every day. Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the residual ink on the nozzle surface.

When the printer is not in use for a long time, it is necessary to perform the nozzle sealing procedure or install a moisturizing device to prevent ink from drying out.

  1. Consumables Specifications

Avoid using ink of different brands interchangeably. Before replacing the ink, thoroughly clean the ink path system to prevent chemical reactions from causing precipitation.
